Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Geomechanics/Geotechnical Engineering

Applications are invited for appointment to a continuing position at either Lectureship or Senior Lectureship level (Levels B or C).
The geotechnical group has well equipped laboratories for element and model testing, and has a strong tradition in analytical and numerical Geomechanics. Applicants will have a PhD and can demonstrate outstanding research potential or experience, and have an interest in theoretical, computational and/or analytical Geomechanics.
The successful candidates will be required to teach undergraduate and postgraduate units of study in Civil Engineering. Teaching in the first two years of the undergraduate program is expected to be in any unit of study across the Civil Engineering curriculum. In the later years of the undergraduate program and in the postgraduate program, teaching will be in units of study which match the area of special expertise of the appointee. The appointee will also be required to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, to establish strong research programs in their area of expertise, to apply for external research funding, to assist with course development and administration, to contribute to administrative, professional and community service, and to contribute to academic scholarship.
Remuneration package: approximate range $90k - $127k p.a. (which includes a base salary, leave loading and 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).
