Degree Programs in detail

The School offers the traditional 4 year degree in Civil Engineering, and also specialised degrees in areas such as Construction Management or Structural Engineering. Combined degrees with Commerce, Science, Arts or Law are popular choices. For students who are unsure of their specialisation, the civil engineering degree structure is completely compatible with the Flexible First Year programme.

What is the difference between our streams?

All students do the same selection of core units of study during their degree to gain a breadth of competency in the various fields of civil engineering. Within streams, students choose different elective units - similar to a major or a specialisation. For the first 5 semesters all single degree students cover the same content. It is not essential to pick a stream or specialisation when starting, and students can change streams during their degree provided they meet certain requirements.
