Renewable Wind & Wave Energy
Utilisation of wind and wave energy is of major importance to our society. Various concepts are under development. We test simple as well as advanced devices to determine optimal control methods to maximise energy absorption. This involves development of control strategies by mimicking fish motions amongst others. The performances of our devices are monitored in wave conditions for a range of worldwide locations that would be suitable for a point absorber wave energy farm. In collaboration with the European Marine Energy Center, the first established full-scale testing center in the world, we are predicting wave energy based on proto type measurements. We are also performing wind tunnel testing and computational model development on modern wind turbines and farms.
