Experiments on internal hydraulic control in layered flows with friction

Experiments are being planned for studying internal hydraulic control in layered flows with friction. The theory of Hogg & Hughes (in press JFM, 2005) is being extended for reduced gravity flows and will be compared with experimental results. The interface displacement, velocity profiles, and control locations will be examined in the presence of both bottom friction and surface stress.
