A.S. Macdonald Prize of the Association of Consulting Structural Engineers of N.S.W.
The prize is awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering, to the honours candidate in civil engineering whose work in the field of structural engineering shows the highest merit.
ARC Engineering Pty Ltd Prize
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering who shows the greatest proficiency in studies related to reinforced concrete provided the work is of sufficient merit.
Bradfield Memorial Prize
Awarded annually to the most distinguish student graduating with first class honours in Civil Engineering. The award is made on t recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering.
Civil Engineering Graduates Prize
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the intermediate year candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering who shows the greatest proficiency in the courses U2.220 Structures I and U2.290 Structural Design 1, provided that the candidate's work is of sufficient merit.
Connell Wagner Rankine and Hill Scholarship
The scholarship shall be awarded under the following conditions: 1. The scholarship shall be awarded annually on the recommendation of a selection committee consisting of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering, or the Head's nominee, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, or the Dean's nominee, and two representatives from Connell Wagner, Rankine and Hill. Meritorious applicants will be interviewed by the selection committee. 2. The scholarship shall be valued at $1,500 and shall be tenable for one year. It shall include a offer of vacation employment experience at the end of the Senior year. 3. The scholarship shall be awarded to a student who is enrolled full-time in the Senior year of the Bachelor of Engineering degree course in Civil Engineering, provided the student's work is of sufficient merit. The award shall be based on academic merit in Junior and Intermediate Years and in leadership and personal qualities. 4. An applicant must be a permanent resident of Australia or the child of a least one permanent resident. 5. Applications for the scholarship will close on 31 March in the year of the award. A successful applicant may not be in the receipt of any other scholarship or equivalent award without the approval of the donor.
D. Campbell-Allen Prize
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the senior year candidate for the degree o Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering who demonstrates the greatest proficiency in the annual examinations, provided the candidate's work is o sufficient merit.
D.G. Walkom Prize
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the most distinguished student graduating with first class honours in civil engineering, provided the student's work is of sufficient merit.
E.H. Davis Prize
Awarded annually by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering enrolled in final year Civil Engineering or in final year Mining Engineering who is most distinguished in geotechnical engineering, provided that the candidate's work is of sufficient merit.
Frank Ientile Prize
Greatest proficiency in B.Eng in Civil Engineering (Environmental Programme) in Final Year.
Graduates of 1966 Prize
The prize is awarded annually to the student who comes first in the course Civil Engineering 1, provided the work is of sufficient merit.
Harvey Dare Prize
Awarded annually to the student, graduating BE in Civil Engineering with first class honours, who is most distinguished in Hydrodynamics and Hydraulic Engineering at the final year examination. The award is made on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering.
J.A.L. and D.L. Shaw Award
Awarded under the following conditions: 1. The name of the award shall be the J.A.L. Shaw Award. 2. The object of the award shall be to recognise academic proficiency in the study of civil engineering and significant continuing contributions to the life of the University or the general community. 3. The award will be open to graduands for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in the School Civil and Mining Engineering. 4. The award may be made annually by the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering on the recommendation of a selection committee consisting of the Head of School, who shall be Chair, and the Professors in the School of Civil and Mining Engineering. 5. The award shall be made only if the selection committee considers that there is a graduand whose work is of sufficient merit.
J.W. Roderick Prize
Awarded annually to the candidate who graduates Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, and who has shown the greatest proficiency in the final year thesis, provided that the candidate's work is of sufficient merit.
Jeffery and Katauskas Prize
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering enrolled in final year civil engineering or in final year mining engineering who demonstrates the greatest proficiency in all the courses related to geomechanics, provided the candidate's work is of sufficient merit.
John Main Prize
Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the student who, graduating Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with first class honours, is most distinguished in all the examinations for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering.
Mining Engineering Graduates' Prize
Awarded annually, on the recommendation the senior lecturer in Mining Engineering, to a candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering who shows the greatest proficiency in Engineering Geology 1 and Engineering Geology 2, provided that the student's work is of sufficient merit.
Murray Rainsford Smith Prize
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to a student for general proficiency in senior courses in Materials, Structural Analysis and Structural Behaviour, provided the student's work is of sufficient merit.

Phil Jones Award
The award may be made annually by the Faculty of Engineering on the recommendation of the Standing Committee of the Faculty to a candidate for tile degree of Bachelor of Engineering who is nominated either by a member of the Faculty of Engineering or by a student enrolled for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering. The nominee should have achieved a high standard of academic proficiency and contributed to the life of the University. Noting that one of the purposes of the award is to support recipients in further studies, preference will be given to students in the earlier years of the degree course.
R.L. Aston Prize
Awarded annually to the student who shows the greatest proficiency in Surveying in the Bachelor of Engineering degree course.
Steel Reinforcement Institute of Australia Prize
Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the senior year candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering who demonstrates the greatest proficiency in the field of reinforced concrete design, provided that the candidates work is of sufficient merit.
The Blackwood Hodge Prize
Awarded annually, on the recommendation the Head of the School of Civil and Mini Engineering, to the student graduating with the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering who has demonstrated the high overall proficiency and ability in the course including theses in construction engineering and management, provided the student's work is sufficient merit.

The Civil Engineering Graduates of 1950 Prize
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the senior year candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering who demonstrates the greatest proficiency in the field of soil mechanics, provided that the candidate's work is of sufficient merit.
The Donald John Douglas Memorial Prize
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the student who presents the most outstanding thesis on a subject in Geotechnical Engineering, provided that the candidate's work is of sufficient merit.
The Smyth Prize in Environmental Engineering (Civil Eng)
I have no information on this one, although I suspect it might be for Environmental Engineering.
Wargon Chapman Partners - R.F. Chapman Memorial Prize
The prize is awarded under the following conditions: 1. The name of the prize is the 'Wargon Chapman Partners - R.F. Chapman Memomial Prize'.2. The prize may be awarded annually to a candidate or group of candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering for design submissions of excellence in Civil Engineering Design. 3. The award will be based on student submissions for a selected major assignment, provided the student's work is of sufficient merit. 4. Selection of the assignment, judging of the submissions and the division of the prize money shall be at the discretion of the Consultant for Design Studies and academic members of staff nominated by the Head of School. 5. The prizes will be presented before the final class in Civil Engineering Design in any given year.
Western Mining Corporation Limited Prizes in Materials and Mining Engineering
One prize is awarded to the senior year candidate who demonstrates greatest proficiency in the courses U3.300 Mining Engineering 1, U3.303 Mining and Mineral Economics 1, and U3.304 Mining Engineering 2, provided that the candidate's work is of sufficient merit. One prize is awarded to the senior advanced year candidate who demonstrates greatest proficiency in the courses 4.302 Mining Engineering Practice, 4.305 Thesis, and 4.307 Mining and Mineral Economics 2, provided that the candidate's work is of sufficient
Winifred Margaret Neirous Scholarships
The scholarships are awarded under the following conditions: 1. The name of the scholarships shall be the Winifred Margaret Neirous Memorial Scholarships. 2. The object of the scholarships is to encourage and assist women of high ability, who might otherwise be prevented from studying for reason of financial hardship, to study structural engineering in the School of Civil and Mining Engineering. 3. The scholarships shall be awarded on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering on the advice of the Professors of Structural Engineering after consultation with the benefactor. 4. The scholarships may be awarded to students or potential students for a period of up to four year provided that the recipients enrol and remain enrolled full-time in a degree course within the School of Civil and Mining Engineering and maintain meritorious progress. 5. Preference shall be given to an applicant who has yet to commence a degree course provided that she is of sufficient academic merit and otherwise meets the conditions of award. 6. Applications shall close on 30 September in each year.

Awarded on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Civil and Mining Engineering to the senior year candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering who demonstrates the greatest proficiency in the field of steel structures, provided that the candidate's work is of sufficient merit.
