Consulting Services

The CGR is able to carry out a number of services for Industry, and these include both testing and consulting work. The laboratories are equipped to carry out most types of routine testing, but can perform large shear box testing, specialist triaxial testing, and model or prototype testing. Services include:

• Atterberg limits
• Grading (particle size distribution)
• Triaxial testing
• Shear box testing (small and large boxes)
• Oedometer testing
• Testing of rock samples (Point load and unconfined compression tests)
• Permeability testing
• Simple shear testing
• Compaction
• Shear wave velocity testing (small strain modulus)
• Pull out tests on reinforcing straps
• CNS (constant normal stiffness) testing
