Please see our photos page. On behalf of the Organising Committee, we wish to say thank you to all our delegates from writing and presenting such interesting and informing technical papers. We hope that you enjoyed your trip to Sydney, and it was pleasure to have you visit our city. We also thank our sponsors, volunteers and the staff from ICE and the Powerhouse Museum who helped make the conference a success. 17 June 2003 - The Conference approaches After 2 years of planning, the conference organisers look forward to welcoming you all next week - we trust you will find the conference interesting, and that you will meet old friends, make new ones, and have a great time in Sydney. Please visit the technical program page to download the latest version of technical program which has been updated this week. 4 June 2003 - Dinner only registrations now available. We realise many interested parties may not be able to spare the time to attend a three day conference. There is still the opportunity to attend the conference dinner to meet and network with international and national colleagues, or perhaps purchase the conference proceedings. Click here for more details. 2 June 2003 - Speakers & Chairpersons Instructions Available To assist our speakers and chairpersons, a list of guidelines to aid in the preparation and delivery of your presentations is now available on the speakers instructions page. 21 May 2003 - Updated Technical Program Now Available Complete session details showing the papers and their authors for each session have now been published. Please visit the technical program page to download the technical program in PDF format. To address your possible
concerns regarding the global SARS virus, the ASSCCA'03 Committee
provides the following links: 15 Jan 2003 - Online Registration Now Available Participants in the conference can either register online or by mail/fax on the registration form in our brochure. All authors have been mailed registration brochures in January 2003 (which is also available online). Please visit the registration page for full details. 5 Dec 2002 - Leading Engineer to Open ASSCCA & Paper Acceptance Update Leading international structural engineer, Dr John Nutt, AM, from Arup, will open ASSCCA in 2003. Please visit our technical program page to find out more. The review process is well underway, all papers received to date have been sent to reviewers, and reviewers comments and notifications of acceptance are being sent to authors as soon as we are receiving them from the reviewers. Please see instructions page for more. 2 Oct 2002 - International Scientific Committee Announced Members of the International Scientific Committee are from all four corners of the world. Please visit our committees page to find out more. 1 Oct 2002 - Keynote Speakers Announced Our keynote speakers come from Japan, United States, United Kingdom, Finland, Italy and Australia. Please visit our technical program page to find out more about all of our speakers as information becomes available. 30 Sept 2002 - Review Process Begins We are receiving large numbers of papers everyday, and we will be sending out papers for technical review in the very near future. 19 July 2002 - Electronic Templates for Papers now available Instructions for Authors, including the electronic templates from Balkema, are now available. Please note that we are no longer accepting abstracts. 9 July 2002 - Abstract Acceptances The Organising Committee thanks all contributors - we have received well over 300 high quality abstracts. We have tried to accept as many of the abstracts as possible, but in order to establish a conference schedule in which authors of all papers can make a presentation, we have had to reduce the number of acceptances. For some authors who have submitted several abstracts, we may be asking you to amalgamate some of your papers into a single paper. Letters of invitation to submit papers (some requesting amalgamation) are being posted this week (9 July 2002). The Organising Committee apologises for the slight delay in abstract review process. Instructions for Authors, including the electronic template from Balkema, will be available very soon. The ASSCCA organising committee is currently reviewing 300 high quality abstracts, from 42 countries - Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and USA. The committee is finalising the arrangements for the publication of the conference proceedings. When that is decided, we will advise all authors on acceptance of papers and the requirements/format for submission of papers.
